iPod restore snafu…
So, when I received the iPhone I restored a recent backup of my ipod to it, to get up and running real quick. Certain that I had that backup copy handy, I also reset my ipod to clear it of personal information and reissue it for other uses.
So now when I had to return the iPhone (see previous post) I now wanted to reinstate the ipod as my primary device.. The backup I have is dated 21.10.2010, and is the same one I restored on the iPhone, where it worked without a hitch. But, when I now try to restore the ipod from it, it just throws an error. A very general error too, something like “iTunes cannot restore the ipod <ipod name> because an error occurred.”
Very frustrating to say the least. Especially as I’m probably looking at several weeks before I get a replacement iPhone…
